The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Alvark Tokyo as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader’s (Akita Northern Happinets) loss. Alvark Tokyo defeated 3rd placed Gunma Crane Thunders at home 86-76. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Alvark Tokyo players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Gunma Crane Thunders was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. Center Alex Kirk nailed 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and guard Justin Cobbs accounted for 15 points. Alvark Tokyo’s coach Dainius Adomaitis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Kaleb TarczewskiĀ came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and guard Trey Jones added 19 points and 5 assists respectively for Gunma Crane Thunders in the defeat. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Gunma Crane Thunders. Gunma Crane Thunders will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Alvark Tokyo will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Gunma Crane Thunders at home.
