Third-ranked Sunrockers Shibuya (11-12) was very close to win a game against fourth ranked Nagoya Diamond Dolphins (18-7). Nagoya Diamond Dolphins managed to secure only two-point victory 88-86. However their fans expected easier game. Nagoya Diamond Dolphins players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American players dominated the game. Forward Coty Clarke stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and power forward Scott Eatherton chipped in 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side forward James McAdoo responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and forward Kevin Jones scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Five Nagoya Diamond Dolphins and four Sunrockers Shibuya players scored in double figures. Sunrockers Shibuya’s coach Tsutomu Isa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Nagoya Diamond Dolphins maintains fourth place with 18-7 record. Sunrockers Shibuya at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost. Nagoya Diamond Dolphins will again play against higher ranked Sunrockers Shibuya (#3) in Tokyo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sunrockers Shibuya will have a break next round.
