I couldn’t help thinking of Julia Stiles in the teen film 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) when I saw the Christian Dior Fall 2016 Couture collection staged in Paris. That look is typical of the late ’90s: of maxi-skirts with flip-flops, half-up/half-down hairdos and tube tops. It was an era casual and athletic wear ruled fashion. How fitting that the 2016 Dior models resembled the young women who might have walked by the sea in Christian Dior’s childhood hometown in Normandy, France.
