HYKE Returns to the Runway After Five Years with a Bold Autumn/Winter 2025 Collection at Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo

After a five-year hiatus from physical shows, Japanese fashion brand HYKE made a return to the runway during Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo 2025 A/W, unveiling its Autumn/Winter 2025-26 collection at the Ariake Arena on March 17th, 2025. Designed by Hideaki Yoshihara and Yukiko Ode, HYKE once again demonstrated its signature blend of heritage, utility, and modern sophistication.

Refined Everyday Wear

Rooted in the concept of ā€œrefined everyday wear for adults,ā€ HYKE’s latest collection draws inspiration from clothing history and vintage aesthetics, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. This season, the brand focused on rich brown tones—from chocolate to caramel and milky beige—anchoring the palette in autumnal warmth. The opening looks featured ombre green check patterns, a nod to classic outdoor shirts, styled into long coats, shirt dresses, and wide-leg pants with a sleek, modern edge.

HYKE’s strong suit—layering—was at the forefront, with sheer veils softly muting the silhouettes of shirts, tees, and wide trousers, creating a sense of movement and depth. The brand also played with length and proportion, combining cropped knits and vests with elongated underlayers for contrast.

Modern Textures and Iconic Outerwear

Key outerwear pieces such as the MA-1 jacket, trench coats, and padded jackets were reimagined with fresh details. HYKE’s iconic toggle coat was updated in cozy boa fleece with a vest-like layered illusion. Flared wide-leg trousers were paired with compact cropped tops to subtly accentuate the waistline.

Sheer Materials and Contrasts

Throughout the collection, translucent fabrics added a sense of lightness which contrasted with the heavier fall-winter textiles.

Collaborations and Functionality

The runway also showcased final pieces from the long-running collaboration with THE NORTH FACE, including trail-inspired T-shirts and down vests from the TNFH THE NORTH FACE Ɨ HYKE capsule. Eyewear from EYEVAN’s E5 line, new colorways of PORTER bags, handcrafted jewelry by END CUSTOM JEWELLERS, and leather Tyrolean shoes from BEAUTIFUL SHOES rounded out the show’s layered, utilitarian looks.

Practicality and Mimimalism

Set against the minimalist backdrop of Ariake Arena, HYKE’s A/W 2025 show proved that utilitarian fashion can be both practical and l grounded in everyday life.Ā

After embracing digital formats during the pandemic, HYKE’s return to a physical runway was long overdue.Ā
