FuelFest Japan 2026 brought together Japanese car culture, Hollywood movie cars, drifting and live entertainment at Fuji Speedway on August 11. The festival combined modified cars and supercars with motorsports demonstrations, special guests and automotive creators from Japan and overseas.
From iconic Fast & Furious vehicles to specialist tuning builds, the event showcased the diversity of automotive culture. Drift demonstrations, drag racing and circuit activities added to the excitement, while musicians, influencers and special guests expanded the experience beyond the car displays.
Fast & Furious Cars at Fuji Speedway
The Fast & Furious franchise was a major attraction at FuelFest Japan 2026. Movie-inspired vehicles connected the festival’s automotive displays with one of the world’s best-known car-action series.
Among the featured vehicles were the Dodge Charger, Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7, Honda Civic, Honda Integra and Mitsubishi Eclipse. The event also featured a 1972 Datsun 240Z associated with Fast X.
These cars represent different sides of performance-car culture, from American muscle to Japanese sports cars. Their appearance highlighted the franchise’s continuing influence on enthusiasts, custom builds and street-racing aesthetics.
More than 20 movie-inspired replica cars added to the display, bringing the visual style of the films into the real world.
JDM Tuning and Custom Cars
Japanese tuning culture was another major part of FuelFest. Modified vehicles filled the display areas, showcasing the variety of styles found across the country’s enthusiast community.
The cars ranged from performance-focused builds to luxury VIP sedans and specialist tuning projects. Dedicated areas highlighted Toyota, Porsche and RE Amemiya, alongside sport compact cars, American police-car builds and movie replicas.
The VIP sedan scene brought a different approach to customisation, focusing on wheel fitment, lowered suspensions, bodywork and individual styling. Meanwhile, the sport compact displays celebrated the performance platforms that helped establish Japan’s reputation among international tuning enthusiasts.
The variety of builds demonstrated how automotive culture extends beyond speed. Styling, engineering, personal expression and community all play an important role.
Drifting and Motorsport Action
Drifting brought movement and noise to the festival through KAMI STREET DRIFT. The programme combined movie-inspired driving with cars associated with Japan’s 1980s and 1990s drift culture.
Professional drift driver Daigo Saito was among the motorsports personalities associated with the event. The drift programme also featured a RE Amemiya car driven by Matsui, connecting the demonstrations with Japan’s rotary-engine tuning heritage.
The action extended beyond drifting. A 0–200-metre drag-racing programme brought cars together for short acceleration contests, while circuit demonstrations showcased performance vehicles in motion.
These activities complemented the static displays and gave visitors a closer look at the driving disciplines that have shaped automotive enthusiasm in Japan.
Supercars and Circuit Displays
Supercars added another dimension to FuelFest Japan 2026, sharing the venue with tuned street cars, luxury sedans and movie replicas.
Demonstration runs and parade activities brought vehicles onto Fuji Speedway’s main circuit. The large-scale parade was a major part of the festival’s identity, bringing together cars from different communities in a shared track experience.
The combination of static displays and live driving highlighted the breadth of the event. Some visitors came for high-performance machinery, others for customised builds or movie cars, while motorsports fans could follow the drift and circuit action.
