On November 24th, 2024, FuelFest Tokyo ignited Fuji Speedway into a vibrant automotive spectacle, combining high-performance racing, celebrity encounters, and immersive fan experiences. Delayed from its original late-August date due to Typhoon #10, the festival drew an impressive crowd of 30,000 attendees and showcased over 2,000 cars—ranging from custom JDM rides to Hollywood-famous vehicles.

FuelFest, co-founded by Cody Walker, brother of the late Paul Walker, brought a globally inspired event to Japan. Cody expressed the festival’s central mission: ā€œIt’s not just a static car show. It’s the sights, the smells, the sounds… All makes and models… Whether you’re into trucks, show cars or performance-built cars for racing or drifting.ā€ His words captured the multi-sensory appeal of FuelFest, emphasizing its all-inclusive celebration.

Adding to the emotional resonance, Tyrese Gibson—another key star from the Fast & Furious franchise—reflected on the event’s charitable purpose: ā€œA portion of the proceeds from FuelFest goes to help keep something that Paul was really passionate about alive… it’s kind of partying with a purpose.ā€ His sentiment underscored how the festival balanced entertainment with meaningful tribute.

Special guests Sung Kang, Tyrese Gibson, and Cody Walker brought authentic Fast & Furious energy. Fans roared as the stars walked among iconic movie vehicles, and 0–200m drag races, drift showdowns, and over 300 demo runs fired up the track. The highlight was the 1,100-car night parade, a dazzling procession that transformed the speedway into a neon-lit theater of motorsport spectacle.

The festival thrived beyond engines and speed. Participants watched elite drifting, including a standout performance from Drigal’s Yuuura Momo, whose expert control garnered applause across generations. Automotive influencers—such as Napars, Takumi Shachō, Makotsu, and Han—drew online buzz, bringing the event’s energy into living rooms and timelines .

FuelFest’s appeal spanned beyond car culture enthusiasts. Family zones, celebrity meet-and-greets, pet-friendly areas, and food stalls created a welcoming atmosphere for all ages. While children marvelled at movie-themed cars and interactive shows, adults reminisced on nostalgia and speed.

FuelFest Tokyo 2024 solidified its place in Japan’s event calendar as a world-class car culture festival. Blending Hollywood star presence, grassroots automotive passion, and meaningful tribute to Paul Walker’s legacy, the event delivered something rare—a shared experience rooted in community, spectacle, and heart. As headlights dimmed on the final night, one fact was clear: FuelFest’s blend of speed, screen, and social purpose continues to fuel the future of automotive enthusiasm.
