Game 2 (Sunday, December 29th, 2024)

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengersĀ Hitachi SunrockersĀ (11-13) was outplayed on the road by fourth rankedĀ Nagoya Diamond DolphinsĀ (19-7)Ā 105-67Ā on Saturday. Nagoya DD dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Hitachi SRT’s 38. They outrebounded Hitachi SRT 46-23 including a 35-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Nagoya DD looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Hitachi SRT’s players. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was forwardĀ Coty ClarkeĀ (201-1992, college:Ā Arkansas) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Power forwardĀ Scott EathertonĀ (206-1991, college:Ā Northeastern) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). ForwardĀ James McAdooĀ (206-1993, college:Ā UNC) produced 15 points and 6 rebounds andĀ Ryan KellyĀ (211-1991, college:Ā Duke) added 16 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nagoya DD maintains fourth position with 19-7 record which they share with defeated Hitachi SRT. Hitachi SRT lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
