On September 4, 2025, Japanese denim-centric label FDMTL presented its 2026 Spring/Summer collection at Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO (Rakuten FWT), held at Shibuya Hikarie’s Hikarie Hall A as part of the fashion week’s fourth day schedule. The show, which began at 20:30, was one of several evening runway slots during the six-day event that ran from September 1 to September 6, 2025 in Tokyo. Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO, organized by the Japan Fashion Week Organization, served as the platform for FDMTL’s seasonal showcase within the broader program of designer presentations.

For its Spring/Summer 2026 lineup, FDMTL marked the brand’s 20th anniversary with a collection titled “Echo of [ ]”, which centered on the label’s foundational elements of denim and indigo. The season’s work demonstrated a focus on material exploration, pattern deconstruction, and creative recombination, aiming to articulate the reverberations of the brand’s core design language across a range of garments. Through reconstructed jackets, pants, and layered pieces that drew on denim’s inherent flexibility and textile identity, the collection sought to translate FDMTL’s enduring approach to craft into new visual forms for the upcoming season.

The staging of FDMTL’s runway reflected the integration of live performative elements, with music accompanying the presentation, and attendance by figures including actor Hio Miyazawa, who appeared in the show wearing pieces from the brand’s lineup. The incorporation of such elements underscored the intersection of fashion presentation and cultural engagement that characterized Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO’s program this season.

FDMTL’s place in the schedule followed earlier presentations by other participating designers such as MSML and TSUMORI CHISATO on the same day, illustrating the continuity of runway activity at Shibuya Hikarie across multiple evening slots. Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO continued through September 6, concluding a week of runway shows, presentations, and industry events that highlighted the 2026 Spring/Summer season’s array of domestic design work.
