HEAVEN TANUDIREDJA presented its Fall/Winter 2025–26 collection during Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo on March 20, 2025, in the heart of Aoyama. Designed by Indonesian-born, Antwerp-trained Heaven Tanudiredja, the collection marked a powerful return to the runway—offering emotionally charged silhouettes, exquisite craftsmanship, and a deeply personal narrative expressed through fashion.
The label, known for its hand-crafted luxury pieces, is rooted in a philosophy that values individuality over mass production. Now based in Bali, Tanudiredja continues to create every piece in his in-house atelier, upholding haute couture traditions with a Southeast Asian soul. Originally trained in womenswear at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, and having worked with names such as Dries Van Noten, Tanudiredja’s transition from apparel to jewelry and back has shaped a design language that blends structure, sentiment, and ornamentation.
This season, Tanudiredja delved into personal memories—specifically past traumas and creative setbacks—to construct a collection that felt at once vulnerable and architecturally bold. Dresses and coats featured pleated elements reminiscent of origami, their sculptural qualities balancing fragility with strength. Layered organza and airy tulles added softness, bringing lightness to otherwise structured forms. Each look maintained a delicate interplay between tension and release—expressing emotional nuance through material contrasts.
Jewelry-inspired embellishment, a hallmark of the designer’s aesthetic, added luminosity. Dresses were adorned with embroidered beads, sequins, and colorful appliqués, lending a jewel-box richness to wearable forms. These accents also appeared on accessories, including teddy bear-shaped handbags and belts strung with gilded chains, further emphasizing the collection’s detail-driven approach.
Floral motifs were central, appearing in three-dimensional appliqués across outerwear, skirts, and tops. Glistening gold petals, blooming brooches, and abstracted buds served as poetic symbols of growth and resilience. In collaboration with longtime friend Mikio Sakabe, the footwear label grounds introduced platform shoes in vivid colors—each pair blooming with sequin flowers that echoed the collection’s romantic energy.
Tanudiredja’s work underscores a shift in luxury fashion toward pieces that are not only handmade but emotionally resonant. Rather than adhering to rigid seasonal calendars, the designer releases collections when creatively compelled, allowing each runway presentation to become an intimate expression of personal and artistic evolution.
By weaving together tactile craftsmanship, emotional storytelling, and avant-garde structure, HEAVEN TANUDIREDJA’s Fall/Winter 2025–26 collection stands as a testament to fashion as both wearable art and a reflection of the self.
