On July 24, 2025, Tokyo’s ESTNATION Roppongi Hills hosted the unveiling of KEISUKEYOSHIDA’s 2026 Spring/Summer collection. Marking a decade since the brand’s founding, designer Keisuke Yoshida revisited his creative approach, centering the collection on the realities of modern urban life. The theme, “Refresh and Relaxation,” captures the tension and subtle softness that define contemporary city living.

This collection shifts focus from the designer’s earlier portrayals of delicate, austere femininity to explore moments of vulnerability within the strength of urban women. Yoshida translates this complexity into garments that reveal beauty in unguarded, everyday instances—those fleeting moments when a person’s composed exterior softens.

A standout feature is the deconstructed tailoring. Classic elements such as lapels and collars are reimagined with deliberate distortions—swelling, twisting, and draping—to evoke a sense of fluidity and imperfection. Outerwear pieces like the Chesterfield-style coat and short trench coat blur traditional lines by exposing inner linings and introducing irregular drapes, reflecting the unpredictability of real life.

Denim and skirts incorporate pockets with lifted linings, simulating fabric caught mid-movement—a nod to the casual disarray of busy days. This motif continues with tops and jackets where pant waist details replace typical necklines, symbolizing a visual release from rigidity toward relaxed ease.

Yoshida’s collaboration with Belgian artist Tom Tosseyn adds a graphic embroidery element that visually underscores the collection’s balance between tension and release. Accessories inspired by everyday objects—a pin reimagined as a dandelion motif—bring poetic symbolism to the designs, emphasizing resilience hidden within fragility.

The choice of ESTNATION Roppongi Hills as the venue reinforces the collection’s urban context, emphasizing a sophisticated yet lived-in aesthetic for city dwellers. The oversized hats recalling traditional Japanese customs subtly address themes of anonymity and social expectation in metropolitan life.

KEISUKEYOSHIDA’s 2026 Spring/Summer collection merges avant-garde tailoring with a fresh perspective on emotional authenticity, creating apparel that resonates with those navigating the demands and contradictions of modern city life. As Yoshida moves from pure elegance to a modern beauty defined by imperfection and humanity, this collection offers a compelling vision of contemporary fashion.
