ENFÖLD presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection in Tokyo under the theme “WRAPPING STRUCTURE,” exploring the relationship between architecture, clothing and the human body.

ENFÖLD returned to Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO on August 31, 2026, presenting its Spring/Summer 2027 collection at Terrada Warehouse G1-5F in Tennozu. Designed by creative director Mizuki Ueda, the collection developed the Japanese label’s interest in sculptural silhouettes through an architectural concept titled “WRAPPING STRUCTURE.” Rather than treating clothing simply as a covering for the body, the collection considered how garments can create a structure around it.

ENFÖLD Spring/Summer 2027: Architecture Meets Fashion

The collection drew on three elements of architecture: internal function, framework and exterior surface. ENFÖLD translated these ideas into clothing through layered construction, distinctive volumes and the use of sheer materials.

Transparent fabrics placed over other garments introduced depth without entirely concealing what lay beneath. Graphic details, meanwhile, referenced the contours and internal structures of the body. Together, these elements connected the framework of a building with the relationship between the body and the clothes surrounding it.

The approach was consistent with ENFÖLD’s established interest in reconstruction, unfinished forms and the interaction between different elements. For Spring/Summer 2027, those ideas were expressed through the tension between a garment’s underlying construction and its visible outer layer.

Colour and Silhouette

Colour remained an important part of the collection. Vivid pinks, blues and yellows appeared in combinations that drew on the architectural work of Mexican architect Luis Barragán, known for his use of strong colour and geometric forms.

The palette also informed the presentation of the collection at Terrada Warehouse. The venue’s high ceilings and industrial character provided a restrained setting, while its columns were wrapped in colourful fabric. This treatment extended the collection’s architectural theme beyond the garments and into the surrounding space.

Styling offered a more practical counterpoint to the collection’s conceptual framework. Ties were worn both tucked into and outside shirts, while contrasting colours were combined with relative freedom. These details demonstrated how ENFÖLD’s more experimental shapes and colour combinations could inform everyday dressing.

Footwear Collaboration with goyemon

Footwear played a supporting role in the collection’s overall proportions. ENFÖLD collaborated with goyemon, a product brand known for reinterpreting traditional Japanese footwear through contemporary design.

The collaboration resulted in a modern take on the setta, a traditional Japanese sandal. The front of the midsole extended forward, creating a distinctive profile that echoed the forward-moving forms of the clothing. Sheer tights completed the styling, linking the footwear to ENFÖLD’s use of transparency and layered materials.

The collaboration provided a clear example of how traditional references can be adapted to work within a contemporary fashion silhouette without becoming separate from the collection’s wider design language.

Makeup and the Final Looks

NARS supported the backstage makeup for the show. Models wore black definition around the eyes, while blush and lip colours were kept relatively muted to avoid competing with the garments. A yellow lipstick shade, selected by Ueda, introduced a more direct connection between the makeup and the collection’s colour palette.

The final looks featured graphics by Agata Yamaguchi that suggested both architectural frameworks and the blood vessels of the human body. The imagery brought the collection’s two principal references—built structures and bodily anatomy—together in a single visual treatment.

ENFÖLD’s Continued Exploration of Structure

With “WRAPPING STRUCTURE,” ENFÖLD used architecture as a framework for examining how clothing surrounds and shapes the body. Layering, transparency, sculptural volume and graphic imagery provided the main visual tools, while colour and footwear added further dimensions to the presentation.

The result was a collection that connected an abstract design concept with recognisable elements of dressing. At Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO, ENFÖLD’s Spring/Summer 2027 show continued the label’s focus on construction and proportion, translating the logic of architecture into a contemporary womenswear collection.
